Mid Century Modern Broyhill Brasilia High Dresser

This iconic mid century highboy dresser from Broyhill’s Brasilia Collection features the unmistakable Brasilia parabola motif presented in bent wood on the top drawer and reiterated in brass pulls on the lower drawers. This detail is inspired directly by the work of architect Oscar Niemeyer who designed numerous structures in Brasil’s capitol, Brasilia. A semi-floating stretcher base lightens the visual weight of this impressive piece while complementing the modernist architectural details which adorn the drawers. This chest is built of solid poplar clad in black walnut veneer. The finish is in very good condition with only minor signs of normal wear. There are no structural problems, and all drawers slide smoothly on aluminum gliders. Measures 40″w x 19″d x 44.5″h. The matching low dresser is also available.

This walnut gentleman’s chest from Drexel’s Declaration Line is in truly immaculate condition. All surfaces display all the richness and depth that a well maintained piece acquires through years of appreciation. All pulls and hardware are in perfect condition, and the interior is pristine. Above two large and two small drawers, double doors open to reveal an array of storage and a pop-up vanity mirror with separate compartments for jewelry and such. This handsome chest is a museum-quality example of the creative collaboration between Stewart MacDougall and Kipp Stewart which yielded Drexel’s Declaration Collection. Rare Mid Century Teak Highboy Tivøli Collection, Stanley Furniture

<SOLD> This exceedingly rare, sophisticated and patented design from the ‘Tivøli Collection’ by H. Paul Browning for Stanley ‘Distinctive Furnitures’ features rich, old growth teak veneer with a multi tonal grain, unique pulls, and a floating profile. The dark, rich tone of this dresser is representative of the old growth teak which was nearly exhausted as the demand for teak furniture increased during the 1960’s. This mid century modern dresser has been stripped of its factory finish to reveal exquisite grain that required no stain to enrich its natural color. It has been finished with a satin Tung oil varnish for durability and water resistance. With cast brass pulls, circular brass back plates, and finger jointed legs, this rare chest is a gleaming example of the highest echelon of American mid-century furniture design. Measuring 36.5″W X 19″D X 44″H, this authentic, vintage case piece represents some of the best that mid twentieth century furniture designers have to offer.

This is a 60’s vintage mid size high dresser with four drawers, a solid poplar frame and contrasting walnut veneer. Although the top drawer has four brass bow tie pulls and appears to be two separate drawers, it is one drawer. Darker toned walnut recesses serve as pulls for the lower three drawers and provide an interesting design element. Sitting on four flat sided tapered legs, this statuesque highboy dresser measures 40.25″W X 18″D X 43.5″H – $450

This striking mid-century modern high dresser by United Furniture features seven spacious drawers with blind pulls, a sculptural base reminiscent of Kagan and Pearsall, and a modern multi-tiered profile. Four small drawers are on the upper level. The top right drawer has a plastic coin organizer completely intact for storing all kinds of small items such as jewelry, cuff links, or loose change. Three wide drawers are positioned below – the top drawer in this section is divided into three separate compartments for organizational purposes. This lovely vintage dresser is constructed of solid poplar clad in black walnut veneer, with oak accents. The warm honeyed tones of the oak and walnut create a pleasant, subtle contrast.
