<SOLD> This is an iconic mid century modern gentleman’s chest from the Brasilia collection by Broyhill Furniture. From one of the most celebrated and highly collectible lines of mid century modern design, this unique highboy dresser features two doors that open to reveal four drawers on the right and two fixed shelves on the left.  Dramatic, sculpted walnut parabolas accent the front of both doors.  The lower section features two wide, spacious drawers accented with the symbolic brass pulls that define this line.  The Brasilia line was first presented at the world’s fair in Seattle in 1962.  This American classic took its styling from the architecture of the city of Brasilia, capital of Brazil.  The inspiration for Broyhill’s Brasilia line is the Palacio da Alvorada designed by famed architect Oscar Niemeyer in 1958.  This building featured sweeping parabolic shapes that would become the signature feature of Broyhill’s furniture line.  Well made, sturdy and highly functional, this magical piece measures 44″W X 19″D X 49″H.  Sold on 9/24/16 for $899

<SOLD> This is a spacious mid century walnut chest on chest by Lane Furniture Company of Virginia.  The upper portion has two doors with conical oak pulls and two deep, smooth sliding drawers behind.  The lower portion features three sizeable drawers accented by thin, maple wood pulls crafted in our workshop.  The contrast between the walnut veneer and the light wooden hardware is stunning.  The top of this vintage dresser has exposed dovetails on each side giving it depth and character.  Made of solid poplar overlaid with figured walnut, this solidly built dresser measures 38″W X 18″D X 48″H.  Sold on 10/24/16 for $399

Vintage Mid-Century High Dresser in Walnut and Oak by Dixie

<SOLD>  This vintage Mid-Century high dresser in walnut and oak by Dixie furniture features a pleasant contrast between the figured walnut drawer fronts and solid white oak face-frame. A slight cantilever above the lower drawers adds perspective, accenting the subtle bevel on the inside of the lower half of the front legs. Black elliptical pulls and a slim profile top complete this tasteful modern design. This beautiful and spacious dresser is also exceptionally solid because of the well executed joinery and fine materials used by Dixie furniture. All surfaces have been refinished. <SOLD> This phenomenal mid century modern walnut tall chest by Hooker features two drawers and an upper cabinet with a sliding door revealing open storage.  Below that there are three full sized drawers with a black elliptical shaped recess accented by a slender silver pull highlighted with a thin line of black.  The half sized upper drawers are perfect for storing lingerie, while the cubby behind the sliding door houses bulky sweaters or jeans with ease.  The original finish is in pristine condition and boasts a lovely, varied walnut grain.  Made from a solid hardwood frame, this piece has a stretcher base with angled legs providing a unique and interesting facade.  Form and function at its finest, this rare, versatile chest measures 42″W X 18″D X 46″H and is priced at $675 $625

Mid Century Modern Diamond Front High Chest in the manner of Vladimir Kagan

<SOLD> This gorgeous, collectible chest  has been refinished from top to bottom and revels in its restoration. The diamond front dresser by United is a work of art, with complex geometrically designed bent plywood, this designer succeeds in creating the illusion of the cuts in a diamond. The walnut veneer selected for the front is all book matched and creates a magical waterfall effect. There are two long top drawers with four drawers below.  The bottom drawer appears to be two, but is actually twice as deep to store bulky items such as sweaters and jeans.  A stylish solid walnut stretcher base provides exceptional support.  This piece of sculptural art measures 40″W X 19″D X 44″H Sold on 8/31/16 for $699
