Mid-Century Modern Highboy Dresser from the Lane Rhythm Collection

<SOLD> This mid-century modern tall chest from the Lane Rhythm Collection offers everything a modern highboy dresser should : style, stability, and storage.  There are three roomy lower drawers and two upper drawers concealed behind double doors, all of which slide on patented metal glides to ensure strength and ease of operation. The rattan door panels are reversible in order to display a finished walnut surface if desired.  The frame of this chest is built of solid poplar overlaid with walnut veneer, while the base and pulls are constructed of solid pecan. The door frames are made of solid walnut.

Lane introduced the Rhythm Line in the mid-1960’s to incorporate elements of Shaker furniture into a modern design scheme offering a more traditional approach.  The simplicity of the inward tapered legs and subtle arc at the top of the door frames allude to both Shaker and Danish design aesthetics. The horizontal rounded-over drawer pulls which span the width of the piece appeal to minimalist sensibilities while providing paramount functionality. The select Walnut veneer which gilds this beautiful chest was originally given a warm medium amber finish which differentiates Lane Rhythm furniture from most of it’s competitors. Only Drexel’s Declaration Line offers a finish of similar character and quality. This dresser has been refinished with a Tung Oil varnish which reproduces the depth and lustre of the original finish while improving durability and water resistance. The top of this dresser features especially rich figuring which is enhanced by the treatment it has been given in our restoration shop.  Measures 40″W X 18″D X 46.25″H.

Mid-Century Modern Triple Dresser by Lane Rhythm

This elegant mid-century triple dresser from the Lane Rhythm collection is constructed of walnut, pecan, and poplar. It features nine spacious drawers, three of which are concealed behind walnut-framed doors with rattan panels. The panels are reversible to display either the rattan as shown, or finished walnut panels.
This dresser has been refinished from head to toe in a Tung Oil varnish which preserves the original depth, luster, and amber color of Lane Rhythm furniture while providing greater durability and water resistance than the original lacquer finish. The walnut veneer used on this piece is truly exquisite. The characteristic Rhythm finish bears much similarity to Drexel’s Declaration line, another iconic mid-century collection with much crossover appeal.
Lane’s Rhythm Collection employs design elements which evoke both Danish Modern and Shaker style, such as the subtle tapered legs and gentle arc seen in the top of the door frames and horizontal base trim. The smoothly rounded pulls which span the width of each drawer function wonderfully and appeal to modern minimalist sensibilities. Lane rhythm furniture stages well with any number of furniture genres, and promotes harmonious balance between the progressive and the traditional.  This gorgeous piece of history measures 74″W X 18″D X 31″H.

Mid Century Modern Broyhill Brasilia Triple Dresser

This mid century modern triple dresser was created by Broyhill in 1962 as part of their “Brasilia” line. With striking brass hardware and signature wave motif, this piece was designed by Broyhill furniture to pay homage to Oscar Niemeyer, known world-wide as the chief architect behind Brazil’s capital city, Brasilia.   Three capacious drawers run down the center flanked by two cabinets with three drawers behind.  This versatile storage unit can also serve as a stylish perch for your widescreen television.

<SOLD> This mid-century modern walnut triple dresser by Thomasville features elegant lines, ample storage, and a beautiful burgundy finish. The six outer doors have vertical blind pulls with a tastefully modern profile, while the three center doors, which conceal three more drawers, display a classic raised panel detail. The top right drawer has a built-in wooden box for storing coins and other small items.  The second middle drawer is separated by a wooden panel for organizational purposes.  This versatile piece would also work well as a credenza or buffet. Mid-century modern furniture by Thomasville is quite rare, and always impeccably constructed. The wood joinery and materials used in this dresser are a cut above most other mid-century furniture. This eye catching mid century walnut dresser features nine drawers with fabulous walnut grain, contrasting veneer and fabulous drawer pulls. There are three spacious drawers down the center with vertical rectangular pulls accented by a complimentary grain pattern. Two sets of three drawers are on either side with an inset circular button pull highlighted by a black recessed back plate.  This vintage lowboy measures 64″W X 18″D X 30.5″H and has been fully restored in our workshop.

Mid-Century Modern Broyhill Brasilia Gentleman’s Chest

<SOLD>  This arresting version of Broyhill’s Brasilia gentleman’s chest is exceedingly rare.  On this high mid century modern dresser, Brasilia’s signature sculpted wave design is elongated on the doors providing maximum dramatic visual impact. This collectible vintage dresser offers multiple storage options. Three interior compartments separated by vertical wood panels allow clothing to be viewed at a glance. Below there are three smooth gliding drawers offering superior organization, while the two deep drawers on the lower half yield a repository for even more apparel.  This historical collection was introduced at the Seattle World’s Fair in 1962 and was inspired by the architecture of Brasilia, the new capital of Brazil. This iconic vintage piece measures 58″H X 40″W X 19″D and has been completely refinished.   $1100 Now $880
