Mid Century Modern Walnut Credenza by Drexel Declaration with Brass and Walnut Pulls

<SOLD>This mid century modern walnut credenza from Drexel’s Declaration collection features four drawers and two spacious cabinets for media components, albums, or dining accoutrement. Original brass and walnut pulls accent the horizontal grain of the drawers, while the subtly recessed borders of the four cabinet doors outline the beautiful vertically oriented grain of the door fronts. Original lighting automatically illuminates each cabinet when the doors are opened. The tapered walnut legs are centered between each pair of doors, creating a cantilevered effect evocative of modern  architecture. This credenza is one of the many remarkable pieces in Drexel’s Declaration line designed by Stewart MacDougall and Kipp Stewart in the late 1950’s. <SOLD>This walnut drop front secretary from Merton Gershun’s Dania Collection by American of Martinsville is one of the most versatile Mid-Century Modern storage pieces available.  It can function as a desk, credenza, dresser, or a combination of the above. The drop-front writing surface conceals cubbies and a small  drawer perfect for organizing finances and memos, as well as  sufficient space to store a laptop  or smaller audio components. The two louvered-front drawers below can store extra clothing or personal effects. There are also 3 shallow drawers in the base .  The cabinet rests on felt pads and can be re-positioned  anywhere on the base  to accommodate lighting, media components, or art.

All components are constructed of  solid poplar clad in select walnut veneer. Brass trim adorns the floating stretcher base, highlighting the tapered torpedo legs of solid walnut. All external surfaces have been refinished in a satin tung oil varnish. The elegant handle on the drop-front door is solid brass.

This compact teak storage cabinet features two adjustable interior shelves and a functioning lock and key making it the perfect choice for a liquor cabinet.  There are ten possible levels for the shelving.  Designed in Denmark, this versatile piece offers a multitude of storage solutions and would also work well as a locking cabinet for cleaning supplies if there are young children in the home.  The original finish does show some minor wear on the top surface. <SOLD>  Manufactured in 1962, this exceptional mid century modern credenza by Stanley features walnut with hourglass diamond shaped rosewood inlays and bands of rosewood on either end of the top surface.  Unique brushed nickel pulls with black and nickel washers adorn the drawers.  The feet of the legs are banded with nickel accenting the pulls.  Both of these features lend a decidedly contemporary edge.  This piece has three center drawers, and a cabinet on either side – one with a fixed interior shelf- providing ample space for media components or dining necessities.  Measuring 54″W X 18″D X 29.5″H, this dazzling vintage credenza can easily function as a low dresser.  Sold on 1/22/17 for $649
