This rare Norwegian modern rosewood dining table extends to 86″ inches with all three leaves inserted to comfortably seat 8 with a possibility of 10. The trim and legs are solid brazilian rosewood, and the top and apron are brazilian rosewood veneer over strong, light spruce. This exquisite table was designed by Rolf Rastad and Adolph Relling for Gustav Bahus, a prominent Norwegian furniture manufacturer. The top has been refinished with a Tung oil varnish which is more water resistant, durable, and beautiful than the lacquer which was originally used. There is just one remaining scratch beneath the new finish which does not detract from the beauty of the table top. All other flaws were corrected during restoration. There are three leaves which are each 11.5″ long. With leaves removed the table is 51.5″ long.

<SOLD>This dazzling Danish Modern refractory table has a fantastic figured rosewood surface with solid teak legs accompanied by a set of six rosewood chairs.  The chairs have a svelte profile and textured, variegated terra cotta vinyl upholstery in exemplary vintage condition.  The table has a rich patina that is enhanced by the vibrant period accurate shade of orange fabric that resists food stains and therefore is an extremely practical choice for dining chairs.  Not only do the chairs look good, but they are incredibly comfortable with their slightly tilted backrest and just the right amount of padding.  This dining set simply glows with confidence and sophistication.  Stamped with Danish tags, free of flaws, and rich in style, you can’t go wrong with this versatile Mid Century dining set from Denmark.  This dining table measures 33.5″W X 49″L X 29″H with no leaves extended.  Each leaf extends 20.5 inches for a total expansion of 90 inches seating a party of six very comfortably.  Sold 5/22/2016 for $975
