MCM High Walnut Dresser with Sculpted Drawer Fronts

This is one of the coolest Mid Century Modern dressers we have run across. The top two drawers have fronts made of solid walnut sculpted in a wavelike pattern. This unique vintage highboy has four drawers with the bottom drawer being double the depth to accommodate bulky items. Made of solid poplar overlaid with select black walnut veneer, this one rests on svelte tapered legs. The lack of visible hardware puts the focus on the beautifully designed drawer fronts rendering this piece of furniture, a work of art.

The vintage patina on the brass pulls complements the dark rich finish perfectly. It has been refinished with a tung oil varnish which is 100% water resistant.

Norwegian Rosewood Dining Table by Gustav Bahus

This rare Norwegian modern rosewood dining table extends to 86″ inches with all three leaves inserted to comfortably seat 8 with a possibility of 10. The trim and legs are solid brazilian rosewood, and the top and apron are brazilian rosewood veneer over strong, light spruce. This exquisite table was designed by Rolf Rastad and Adolph Relling for Gustav Bahus, a prominent Norwegian furniture manufacturer. The top has been refinished with a Tung oil varnish which is more water resistant, durable, and beautiful than the lacquer which was originally used. There is just one remaining scratch beneath the new finish which does not detract from the beauty of the table top. All other flaws were corrected during restoration. There are three leaves which are each 11.5″ long. With leaves removed the table is 51.5″ long.

This vintage glass front display cabinet by Basic-Witz features two fixed interior shelves, two lower drawers, and bare hairpin legs.  The drawers have conical pulls with a speckled black circular back plate and slide smoothly and evenly.  This Mid Century Modern storage case is in exceptionally good condition with no flaws to the warm, honeyed walnut veneer casing.
