foyer table with live edge and McCobb Legs
<SOLD> This elegant foyer table pairs a live edge oak slab top with vintage mid century modern wood legs. Seen here on rich antique flooring, it seamlessly blends mid century style into more traditional surroundings. This piece of red oak, harvested in Caroline County, was chosen for the gentle curve of it’s natural edge which is echoed in the smooth, subtle grain. It was then given a cherry inlay to secure a small crack at one end, and finished with a tung oil varnish for a warm, organic luster. $299

Lane Acclaim Wedge Table

mid-century-Lane-Acclaim-Wedge-Table

-SOLD-This vintage 1959 Mid-century Modern wedge table from the Acclaim series by Lane has a walnut veneer top with exposed oak dovetails and a utilitarian lower shelf to store magazines or books.  Often referred to as a “guitar pick” table, this quirky corner end table measures 26″ X 26″ X 18″ H.

~Sold 6/7/2015  for $175

From the Lane Acclaim catalog:

Although contemporary in classification, Acclaim furniture has a distinct hand-crafted quality that gives it unusual warmth and mellowness. Edges are softly rounded and suggest patient hand-working, rubbing, more hand-working and rubbing to achieve the soft, sculptured contours. Only the top 35% grade of walnut on the market is considered for this furniture. Then, out of 100 feet purchased, only 40 feet will meet Lane’s exacting requirements for grain and color. This fine wood is then finished with a mellow gunstock patina, enriched in character with dovetail inlays. Let your finger-tips brush across the satin-sooth dovetailing — you won’t be able to tell where the joinings are.
