Mid Century Modern Walnut Credenza in the Style of Kagan

This Mid Century Modern Walnut Credenza  features a seamless bow front and a floating stretcher base reminiscent of designs by Vladmir Kagan and Adrian Pearsall.  A long, low profile makes it the perfect complement for a classic mid-mod sofa and coffee table. The especially wide stretcher base exhibits a flowing curvature which tastefully contrasts the triangular solid walnut pulls on the two center drawers.  Two double folding doors display subtly rounded outer edges which accentuate the smooth flow of this mellifluous design. High quality brass piano hinges ensure the structural integrity of the doors. The original lacquer finish is in excellent condition and there are no structural flaws. This beautiful credenza would be perfectly displayed in a bay window, as an entertainment stand, or for use as a server or buffet in your vintage dining room.

This warm, honeyed walnut credenza features four spacious cabinets, two of which have interior shelving and rattan fronted panels on each door. The stretcher base has six sculpted walnut legs for extra support. The interior shelving sits inside the paneled doors on either end of this vintage piece and is in a fixed position. The top drawer has four sections divided by wooden panels for organizational purposes. Constructed of solid poplar clad in select walnut veneer, brass trim adorns the floating stretcher base, highlighting the tapered torpedo legs of solid walnut. <SOLD> This fantastic walnut mid century modern credenza from Drexel’s Parallel Collection has one tambour door on the left, a center door that opens to reveal album storage and a shelf, and an accordion door on the right that houses a drawer with open storage beneath.  The tambour door slides upward by grasping the small, solid walnut handle at the base of the door and is composed of a number of closely set wood strips attached to a piece of cloth, the whole sliding in grooves along the sides, similar to a roll top desk.  The interior shelf behind the door is adjustable.  This upscale vintage piece has a finished back allowing it to be positioned in an open concept room.  Though reminiscent of credenzas made by Drexel Furniture Company, this piece has all of the qualities of a small production, upscale shop.  Restored and professionally refinished, this highly functional piece is a great candidate for a modern media center with ample storage for all of your media components, remotes, turntable, and albums.
