Mid Century Paul McCobb Desk and Chair from the Planner Group Series

This solid maple desk and chair is from the Planner Group Series by Paul McCobb manufactured by the Winchendon Furniture Company.  This iconic set features long, tapered legs on the right, a beveled edge on the writing surface, and two deep drawers with small, spherical brass knobs.  The writing surface of this piece has been refinished while all other surfaces maintain their original factory finish.  The original tag is adhered to the interior of the top drawer of the desk.  Although the tapered leg dates back much earlier, it was furniture designer Paul McCobb who began using the tapered leg in his designs during the Mid Century Era.  His designs went on to become some of the best-selling furniture lines of the 1950s. The use of this detail helped to define the style that other designers utilized later.  The chair, also designed by McCobb has an ergonomic shape and a seat height of 17.5 inches.

This elegant set of Vintage Mid-Century T-back dining chairs have been newly re-covered with high quality olive green herringbone upholstery fabric. There are 2 arm chairs and 4 side chairs. Intricate veneer detail on both front and rear of the chair backs draw the eye to the central strip of black walnut which tastefully contrasts the amber tones of the pecan frames. Solid hardwood construction and well-executed design make these chairs exceedingly sturdy. All the chairs have been very well cared for, preserving the original finish in excellent condition.

This vintage mid-century walnut credenza by Basic-Witz of Waynsboro boasts two spacious cabinets, three drawers, and a well-maintained original finish. Vertical wood drawer pulls echo the elegant long grain seen on the door fronts. Modern recessed brass knobs on the doors balance the design and give a pop of brilliance. This beautiful sideboard is constructed of solid poplar clad in select walnut veneer, and is in perfect structural condition. Both doors open easily and all drawers slide smoothly.

This is a set of three Danish Modern teak dining chairs designed by Benny Linden with newly upholstered seats in slate blue.  Made of solid teak with dramatically curved wood slat backrests and a fantastic profile, these chairs are excellent supplemental seating for a pre-existing dining set or a small table.  Each chair is sturdy and structurally sound, has a seat height of 18 inches and can be purchased separately if so desired.  Price listed is for the set of three.
