A Norwegian industrial designer named Peter Opsik questioned the notion that there is just one correct sitting posture. Unlike his peers, Opsvik believed that our body intuitively seeks the ideal sitting position – the next position is always the best – and it’s this freedom of movement that defines Opsvik’s designs. This vintage bentwood posture chair has two padded rests intended for the knees and a sloped seat which allows the person seated to rest with their weight suspended between their knees and backside, distributing the pressure away from the back and feet and encouraging an upright straight alignment of the spine. Knee rests and seat are both upholstered in black. This piece is in excellent condition.
