Description
This extremely rare sofa from the mid twentieth century was designed by T.H. Robsjohn-Gibbings who worked as a designer for the Widdicomb Furniture Company of Grand Rapids, Michigan from 1943 to 1956. This ‘model 1711’ vintage 1950’s sofa is constructed of a thick, hardwood frame with a fixed backrest and provides seating for five. This sofa has new black vinyl support straps and fabric that was updated in the 1970’s. The frame is solid, sturdy and in very good condition with minimal wear. This super comfortable couch has a loose seat cushion with fabric that is in good condition with an area on the backrest that is wearing thin (documented in photos.) This is a great collector’s piece for the mid century enthusiast. Seat height is 16 inches; upholstery services available.
