This exquisite mid-century modern dining set from Drexel’s Declaration collection was designed in the late 1950’s by Stewart MacDougal. The Declaration line has become one of the most sought after mid-century modern furniture on the market because of it’s timeless appeal and high quality construction. This iconic set includes a rectangular walnut table with rounded corners, two 18″ leaves and six curvilinear chairs with two inlaid rosewood diamonds on the backrests. The chair seats are upholstered in a rich, warm burgundy fabric. The elegant curves and visible joinery in the chairs complement the beautiful simplicity of the expansive dining table perfectly. Table and chairs are constructed impeccably from solid hardwood clad in American walnut veneer. The dining table measures 60 inches long without leaves, and 104 inches long with both of the 22 inch leaves inserted, long to accommodate 10 guests. There are six chairs – two Captain’s chairs and four side chairs. Both table and chairs in excellent condition with a beautifully aged patina, this rare set doesn’t come around often. This is a genuine mid-century item and may have some form of age appropriate wear. Sold as a set only.
