Description

This rare, mid century modern credenza has had one owner and is in excellent vintage condition.  This sideboard was designed in the mid 1960’s and captures the essence of Danish Modern design with its clean lines and functional design.  A set of four dovetailed drawers with oval, solid teak pulls run down the center.  There is a cabinet on either side behind sliding doors.  These tambour doors are constructed of solid teak strips that slide smoothly back into the casing minimizing the space needed.  There are two adjustable shelves with nine predrilled holes inside each cabinet providing optimum storage versatility.  Attributed to Danish designer Johannes Andersen and manufactured in Denmark by Bernhard Pedersen & Son, the original paper tag reading “BPS” is affixed to the cabinet interior.  This impressive credenza is just shy of 7 feet wide and rests on solid teak legs connected by a stretcher.  Freshly teak oiled, this Danish modern piece was purchased in 1969 and was meticulously preserved by the original owner.
