This Intricately Carved African Accent Chair is Art As Furniture. The seat portion is a separate piece that slides into the backrest and is held in place by tension.  The backrest depicts African wildlife.  This inventive chair is made from two separate pieces of tropical hardwood that sustain a seat with tension. The sculpted seat is indented to accommodate the human form making this low slung chair surprisingly comfortable.  This design provides a stark contrast to the simplicity of mid century furniture and therefore is a great accent piece for the minimalist’s home.
